The story of the piece…
*In a time of ancient magic.*
The gods blessed the lands of humanity by raining down cubes of energy from the heavens. These cubes bestowed life and magical abilities to people who conquered them. Cities and kingdoms were erected using the light stored away in the cubes. Eventually the overwhelming lust for the power to control the objects brought war and servitude to the world of mortals.
During this time of war in the far east. Time travel was invented by a small kingdom of heretics who gained control of a large mass of cubes in the mountains of Ledona. They sculpted a castle from the masses of energy and experimented with strange time related magic. Here in the city untouched by the ravages of time a princess in locked away in her castle. Forever un aging. Trapped and hidden from the war. From humanity. Lost in her own mind and slowly slipping into madness. For her this is a prison.
For centuries this castle stands untouched and protected by the giant statue that keeps time and tells no tales. A statue that is aged hundreds of years, while the castle under its watch remains new and full of life under its watch.
Only it is being approached by a mysterious warrior. A warrior of time and space, a warrior who knows this castle all too well. Who knows the evil awaiting her inside. A place she too was once trapped in. It was once her time prison. In the centuries to come she finally found her escape using a time portal that her captors had created with their dark magic. She barely managed to free herself with what sanity was left for her.
She is the very princess that is locked away in the castle walls herself. Returning to free her past self from damnation. From insanity and servitude. She is Princess Epoch.
